Senior Accountant

Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000

This is a high-visibility role that serves as the primary accountant for the organization, owning core accounting operations while also driving insights, process improvements, and scalability in a growing, mission-driven company.

Core Accounting & Financial Operations
- Own day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and manage deferred revenue using NetSuite’s Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) module in accordance with GAAP
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare timely, accurate monthly financial statements and explain variances, trends, and unusual activity
- Develop supplemental monthly and ad-hoc reports to support leadership and strategic decision-making
- Partner with management to identify cost savings, operational efficiencies, and revenue-impacting trends
Compliance, Taxes & Payroll
- Calculate, prepare, and file sales and use tax returns across multiple states
- Register the company in new states as nexus is established and ensure ongoing compliance
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
Collaboration & Growth
- Work closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams across the organization
- Collaborate with and cross-train other accounting team members; provide backup support as needed
- Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and scalability
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- Month-end close and financial statements are completed on time and free from material error
- Sales and use tax filings are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
- Deferred revenue and revenue recognition processes are well-documented, compliant, and auditable
- Payroll is processed accurately and consistently
- Accounting processes are efficient, well-documented, and continuously improving
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-state, SaaS, or growth-oriented environment
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting best practices
- NetSuite experience strongly preferred (ARM experience a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to translate financial data for non-financial stakeholders
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
