Marketing Manager

Salary range: $115,000 - $120,000

The Marketing Manager is a new position on the Marketing team designed to support the company’s aggressive B2B growth strategy. This role is responsible for identifying and delivering marketing content, campaigns, and initiatives to the Sales team to equip them with the resources they need to achieve their customer acquisition and revenue goals. With a solid understanding of the B2B customer lifecycle, this role will develop content and campaigns to support regional, state, and ABM revenue targets. You will become a 95 Percent Group subject matter expert (SME) for Sales by gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company’s competitive positioning, all product offerings, and sales processes and policies, and you will serve as the primary point of contact in Marketing for the Sales team. The Marketing Manager reports to the Vice President of Marketing. In this role, you will have a direct impact on our mission to unlock the power of literacy for every child.   

Key areas of responsibility 

 External Marketing Materials:  

  • Manage customer-facing sales enablement collateral that the Sales team can use when pitching new prospects and current customers, including but not limited to select sales presentations, product-specific and state-specific datasheets and brochures, comparison charts, event flyers, dedicated landing pages, etc.  
  • In partnership with the Product team, develop go-to-market sales assets for new product launches, keep track of key competitors, and create and update internal competitive comparison charts that provide Sales with succinct sales messaging for each competitor and competitive product. 
  • Translate national marketing campaigns to create regional and state-specific campaigns that meet Sales’ territory goals. 
  • Identify state-specific legislation and/or trends to support Sales with their target accounts.  
  • As 95 Percent Group’s Sales and Marketing teams and functions expand, partner with these teams to take on additional responsibilities as needed to enable the Sales team to effectively and efficiently market 95 Percent Group and close new business. 

 Internal Processes and Governance: 

  • Regularly audit sales collateral and make recommendations to update and/or retire pieces of collateral as needed to keep the collection fresh and relevant. 
  • To maintain brand standards and consistent messaging, develop templates for collateral that needs to be customized by each sales rep; train reps on the use of these resources. 
  • Develop and maintain a playbook that houses all sales collateral and govern it regularly to make sure content is updated.  
  • Collaborate with the Sales leadership team to develop and enforce standard operating procedures related to marketing campaigns and content. 
  • Prepare and lead the marketing update in the weekly Sales meeting. 

 Cross-functional Collaboration:  

  • Meet with Sales leadership regularly to understand challenges and build sales enablement content to meet their needs. 
  • Regularly attend Sales and Client Success team meetings to report on upcoming marketing campaigns and collateral and to capture feedback from team members.  

What are we looking for?  

  • 5 years of progressive hands-on experience in a B2B marketing role creating state, regional, and ABM campaigns and developing sales enablement tools. 
  • Excellent understanding of B2B marketing and the lead lifecycle. 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once and be flexible to change directions quickly in order to adapt to shifting business priorities; high level of organization and attention to detail.  
  • Comfortable communicating consultatively and cross functionally with multiple internal teams and external business partners on a variety of sales related subjects, in both written and oral form.  
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills with attention to grammatical detail.  
  • Willingness to travel to trade shows and sales meetings as needed.  
  • Fluent in marketing technology including marketing automation software (HubSpot preferred), CRM systems (Salesforce required), and CMS (WordPress preferred). 
  • Preference for a fast-paced, growth environment where everyone is expected to take on additional responsibilities and collaborate to hit company targets. 
  • Commitment to improving literacy and student reading achievement. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field. 

 Physical Requirements/Work Environment: 

  • The use of standard office equipment/computers and some light physical work required 
  • This position is remote from your home office 
  • Occasional travel as needed
