Phonological Awareness Lessons™

95 Percent Group is excited to offer a variety of At-Home Instructional Resources to all those teaching their students and children during these unprecedented times.  Our team of consultants have crafted these resources to be accessible and teachable by teachers and parents alike.  At 95 Percent Group, we understand that now more than ever, these resources are important to share and continue the educational growth of our youth.

Phonological Awareness provides building blocks that are essential to reading. When a child practices these skills they are focusing on sounds without print. We are offering three lessons designed primarily for pre-k through grade 1. The lessons concentrate on the following skills:

Beginning Phonological Awareness

  •  Adding syllables together to create a new word (corresponds to PA Skill 3.4).
  • Segmenting and blending beginning sounds in words known as onset/rime (corresponds to PA Skill 4.1 and 4.2).

Advanced Phonological Awareness

  •  Segmenting individual sounds in words and adding a sound to make a new word (corresponds to PA Skills 5.6, and 5. 9)

All the lessons listed below are being made available to all parents. We think you may find these very valuable in helping your students continue their learning during this time. Please do not share this page; it is designed for teachers. We encourage you to identify which link below would be most helpful to your student and share the link to that individual lesson. (We have provided a sample email on the previous page.)
